In
today’s class I will describe something about the CAD & CAM that
are basically the computer operated programs. So just read it and don’t
forget to make any comment.
CAD (Computer Aided Design) and CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) are industry specific design & manufacturing systems using computer as a tool. In 1970’s it made an entry in the Textile and Apparel industry.
According to the National Knitwear Association of US, of 228 apparel manufacturers:
60% use CAD to create colorways.
60% use CAD to create printed fabric design.
48% use CAD to create merchandising presentation.
41% use CAD to create knitwear designs.
Computers only speeds up the process of repeat making, color changing & motif manipulation.
