Weaving Process:
Warp, Weft and Loom:
Woven fabrics are produced by two series of yarns. The vertical that is length wise yarns are called warp yarns and the width wise yarns of fabric are called weft yarns. The warp yarns are also called ends and the weft yarns are called picks. The warp and weft yarns are bund together by their interlacement and woven fabric is produced in the weaving machine which is called loom. To produce woven fabric, the warp and weft yarns requires pre-process. The stepwise systematic preparatory process of weaving is briefly described below.Weaving Cone Making:
In the weaving mill, raw material is yarn, which is collected in cone form. Each cone is roughly 2 kg weight. For weft yarn, these cones may be fed directly in the weaving machine where shuttle is not used. If shuttle is used for weft yarn insertion then pirn winding is essential from those cones.Beaming:
In the process of weaving, for warp yarns, we need to produce pre bean which is also called warpers beam. To produce warpers beam we need warping machine with a creel capacity about 400-700 cone capacity. To produce a weavers beam we need 6 to 12 warpers beam. Number of cones to be se in the creel depends on production planning.
Sizing:
To produce weavers beam in weaving 6-12 pre-beam are arranged in the feed side of the sizing machine. If a fabric requires 6000 warp yarns and pre-beam produced from 500 warp yarns, then 12 pre-beam will be required to feed, n the feed side of sizing machine. Warp yarns from 12 pre-beams combined together before the sizing box and the sheet like warp yarns passes through the sizing box.Size materials about 10% on the weight of warp ya4rns are applied. This percentage of size take up could be controlled. Then the wet warp yarns passes around 7 to 9 steam heated drying cylinders. When the warp yarns leaves the seam heated drying cylinders, the sized yarn becomes perfectly dry. The sized dry yarns are wound on a beam called weaves beam. One beam object of applyeing size materials on warp yarns is to increase the strength and reduce the hairiness of the yarns. Sizing is and essential operation for woven fabric production.
